Times Square is a renovation project located in Shanghai CBD. Landscape extends the building’s inspiration to the theatre, paving uses an overlapping pattern and a combination of lines to form light and shadow, evoking the scattering of light at a theatre. The landscape design makes use of the level differences of the site, creating an effect whereby the whole building appears to be lifted up, creating a sense of floating in the passersby. This raised landscape also performing the practical functions of integrating the concealing existing vents, and demarcating the pedestrian subway.
